Why do I LOVE being a wedding planner? Weddings=love and that is pretty much the best thing ever! While planning a wedding can be fun (and it should be) it can also be hard, like really hard. And do you know how I know that? From planning my own wedding!! Even though I had been prepared as far as what I wanted on the day of, the execution of it all still had me overwhelmed and I was not able to focus on the joy of my wedding day as much as I would have liked. I hadn’t thought of a ton of little things like table numbers, visiting guests, and even a big thing like not enough time for pictures after the ceremony. Some days I really want a do-over for that very reason, to have more time built into the day to really be present and part of it rather than just going through the motions. I have learned invaluable lessons in the time needed for clients during their wedding day and those lost moments cannot be reclaimed. Yes, I had amazing family that stepped in and handled any last minute things that came along but I still worried. I worried about their enjoyment of the day as much as my own.

A huge part of my experience also stems from working at David’s Bridal and Savvi Formalwear. There are so many facets to each element of a wedding and not one event is remotely the same as another. This combined with my own wedding experience, I do not want any bride or groom to experience even half the distraction or anxiety that I did. This is the most special day for the two of you as a couple and it should be nothing less than that. That’s it. Period. You should not accept anything less than what you want on your wedding day.

Another major piece to all of this is the reality of a wedding and the concerns that come with it. Yes it can be messy and crazy and wonderful all at the same time and THAT IS PERFECTLY OK! I have had clients and friends come to me with concerns about being a “bridezilla”. Where did that term come from? A terrible, fake reality TV show that’s where! Bride’s being upset about things going wrong is 100% ok and trying to work those things out is what I am here for. I am here to help you voice those concerns and opinions! Weddings are full of so much emotion and some days you might want to lose it and you are allowed to. Let me be clear, I am not a wedding planner that is going to “yes” you through the whole process. What I am going to do is tell you the truth while also validating the very real apprehension you might have.

Being a wedding planner is so much more than scheduling a few things for vendors. It’s being a cheerleader, a friend, a professional at handling anything and everything BEFORE it even comes your way. Why should you hire a wedding planner? Because no bride should be half dressed looking for their florist with a hair and makeup team running after her. Why should you hire me? Because no one will get to know you, be excited for you or work harder for you more than I will
